CFCC Program Supporting Montana Consortium with Activities for Native American Students

Some Montana Native American students learned a lot about science, rockets, and computers this past year thanks to a series of special programs developed by the Oak Ridge National Laboratory CFCC Program. Scientists conducted four projects during 1994 to support the Montana Science and Technology Consortium. The projects were:

1. A residential science camp for 10- to 12-year-old Native Americans held during the summer at Rocky Mountain College in Montana.

2. A summer student/faculty research program conducted at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and several CFCC industries.

3. Curriculum development related to industrial applications for advanced ceramics to conserve energy and protect the environment.

4. A special CFCC workshop for Native American college students held during the CFCC working group meeting.
