Dow Corning materials engineer Ronald Boisvert, a guest of the Mechanical Properties User Center at ORNL, conducted extensive testing at the center on advanced CFCCs being developed by Dow-Corning. Coordinated with the assistance of ORNL scientist Edgar Lara-Curzio, a development staff member of the ORNL Metals and Ceramics Division, Boisvert's work demonstrated the value of combining the Center's expertise and infrastructure in the thermomechanical characterization of structural and advanced materials with the current efforts at Dow Corning in the research and development of CFCCs. The User Center is part of the High Temperature Materials Laboratory.
